RockMelt es un navegador web especializado en Facebook y Twitter, dos de las páginas más populares de la red. Desarrollado a partir de Google Chrome, RockMelt integra funciones que te ayudan a estar siempre conectado.
Tras la instalación, RockMelt te pedirá los datos de Facebook y que autorices la conexión. Hecho eso, verás la barra izquierda poblarse de contactos, los de tu perfil. Un clic y podrás chatear con ellos como si estuvieras en Facebook. Los cuadros de chat de RockMelt se pueden separar en ventanas aparte.
La barra derecha de RockMelt contiene las noticias, que en este caso incluyen, además de Facebook y Twitter, los feed RSS que tú añadas. RockMelt sugiere fuentes a partir de los sitios más visitados o más recientes. Ambas barras se ocultan y muestran con el atajo Control + Mayús. + Espacio.
Otras características de RockMelt son accesibles desde la barra superior. La búsqueda mejorada, por ejemplo, muestra vistas previas de los resultados en paneles separados y sugiere resultados de Facebook, mientras que el botón Share permite compartir enlaces fácilmente.
RockMelt es un navegador bien diseñado y agradable, con funciones que superan a muchas de las extensiones más populares. Tener Facebook tan cerca mientras se navega es una gozada; si pasas mucho tiempo allí, vale la pena probarlo.

RockMelt is a social browser that integrates Facebook and Twitter, making them a part of your browser interface, not separate tabs.

Built on the open source Chromium project, RockMelt is unusual for a browser in that you have to log in to use it properly. It looks like Google Chrome with two slim sidebars. On the left is a Facebook bar with all your online friends, and on the right a notifications bar, that houses pop-ups for your Facebook wall, Twitter feed plus any RSS feeds you want. You cannot add email at the moment.
Clicking the Facebook or Twitter button opens a neat window for the appropriate feed. You can disconnect these window, and float them anywhere on your desktop. The same is true of chats on the left sidebar. Next to the address bar RockMelt has a Share button, allowing you to quickly post interesting links to Facebook or Twitter.
If you're a heavy Twitter and Facebook user, RockMelt will really suit you. It's fast, very well thought-out and the social integration is better than anything else available. It may be in Beta, but RockMelt looks and feels like a finished product already.
